MAUI SHORELINE LOCATIONS
Every year for the past 30 years, Great Whale Count brings volunteers together to count whales from shore as part of a long-term survey of humpback whales in Hawaii.
This event provides a snapshot of local trends in cetacean population abundance and is one of the world’s longest running citizen scientist projects.
It is a great way residents and visitors alike can have a meaningful impact on the study of humpback whales in Hawai‘i, a fun way to whalewatch, and a unique way to meet others.
