Makena Surf Resort is a luxurious secluded beachfront condominium located in exclusive Makena. This gated community was developed with six 2 & 3 story buildings each offering sweeping views of the Pacific. The pristine and picturesque beach and rocky shoreline fronting the property is exceptional for sunsets, swimming, sunning and spectacular seasonal whale watching. Makena Surf Resort offers central air conditioning, two large pool areas with Jacuzzis, private gas barbeque areas, four tennis courts and free onsite parking. The interiors include large fully equipped kitchens, wet bar, washers & dryers, cable television, free local phone service, private lanais and luxury linens supplied directly by Ali’i Resorts. Housekeeping services are included at this resort property. Guests will receive a clean and exchange of all amenities and linens on every 3rd day. Housekeeping services can happen from 8:30am-4:30pm. All days in between are towel drop.

Wonderful view and lovely condo!

We absolutely loved this unit! Huge picture windows to a lanai that overlooked the main beach and ocean. We were steps away from the beach and pool. The unit has a well-equipped kitchen and we loved the bathrooms too, very roomy and great shower pressure. We loved eating out on the lanai. We even saw a whale breach from the condo! Another huge plus if you snorkel is that there is a beautiful reef right at this beach and turtles are always there-- every time I went out I saw multiple turtles. I would say the second bedroom is best if you have a lot of kids-- as adults we slept on the double bed under the bunk bed and it wasn't as comfortable as the main bedroom bed for adults. (our party had grandparents, parents, and one kid). But it is super nice to have the option for so many beds (3 single beds and the double in the second bedroom). Barbeque grill on the lanai was a bonus too!

Love this place!

This place was great! We stayed with our 2 daughters (age 3 and 6) who just loved the bunk beds, big bathtub and the dining table. Dining table sets up perfectly for coloring, crafts and eating of course. The beach is amazing. Feels very private, but great families with young kids are always around for the little ones. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Ali'l Resorts is very professional and great to work with! We will be back for sure!!

Everything We Hoped For!

Although we've visited Hawaii many times, this was our first time renting and staying in a private condo (anywhere). We weren't sure what to expect, but we couldn't have been more delighted with the entire experience! From the booking to the checkout, everything was easy and, most important, E-204 fully delivered on the promises of its photos and descriptions. The overall resort property is private, quiet, and beautifully kept. It is a tropical paradise of palms, ferns, and flowers. The Ali'i Resorts staff were attentive and responsive to any needs we might have, and the housekeepers came daily to change linens and clean up, which we very much appreciated. The resort location is perfect--away from the crowds, but only a couple of minute's drive to shopping, hotels, golf, and restaurants. Kihei is an easy 5-10 minute drive as well. The condo itself had a gorgeous and completely unobstructed view of the ocean from the private lanai and main living areas. One morning, we saw turtles feeding just offshore. We loved stepping into the hallway from the bedroom every morning and immediately seeing the ocean stretched out in front of us! The condo furnishings have a tropical bent and are attractive, comfortable and clean; the kitchen is extremely well outfitted with all the cooking, eating, or drinking utensils you might ever need. The resort's superb beach is just a few steps from the condo door and beach equipment is provided. The beach is shallow and the waves gentle, allowing for lots of snorkeling and swimming. Even though Maui offers plenty of diversions, E-204 was so lovely and peaceful that we ended up spending the majority of our waking hours just hanging out there, drinking a glass of wine on the lanai and enjoying the serenity and beauty of the ocean views. We can't wait to go back!

We were,very happy with this condo. As far as the view and enjoyingnthevsun set doesn't get any better. For u snorkelers this is prob one of the best spots on maui to see turtles.

It was the perfect Hawaiian experience.

From the time I made the reservation with ali'i Resorts until the time I checked out their service and attention to detail was amazing. We did not experience a single problem. In fact when we needed more coffee I was informed that it was only provided for the first day, which makes sense since you then have time to get to the market to buy groceries. Yet I explained that we just needed coffee for our final two days and the next morning we had coffee. The housekeeping was terrific. Then, of course, was the location. Directly above the beautiful beach. Great view and beautiful sunsets. Also used the pool and jacuzzi every day. Very nice. Really everything was just perfect.

Extraordinary Ocean View Condo

We booked this unit for 10 days as a 50 th Birthday present on Maui and were totally impressed with it. The condo had all the amenities we needed, the surround music system throughout was a pleasure. We saw whales in the distance, great sunsets and tasty Kona coffee on the lanai in the morning while listening to the waves wash ashore. There are many restaurants like Mama's Fish House at mile marker 8 on the road to Hana, or Gannon's at the Wailea Golf Course down the street. I highly recommend these two places, but they can be $$$. Staying in Makena was also important to us we we were married on Makena Beach back in 2003, so we both went back to the beach to renew our vows there. It was also nice to see weddings being performed on the beach at Makena Surf during sunrise and sunset from our lanai.

Ultimate place to enjoy paradise!

Beautiful condo with excellent ocean and sunset views. Great snokeling right in front of this unit. We would definetly stay here again.

The most amazing stay!

We had the most amazing time staying at makena surf. Our family of 6 fit just perfectly in the unit. The kids sleeping room with 4 beds was a hit with both the kids and us. The decor was like stepping into a plantation or Tommy Bahama store, it was a perfect setting for our 10 year anniversary and wedding vow renewal, which took place right on Makena Beach just steps from our unit. The grounds are some of the most beautiful and well maintained I have ever seen not to mention you are just steps from amazing snorkeling. We ate 99% of our meals in the unit which had every gadget and dish you could hope for. We will definately stay again when we come to Maui again. Only down side, would have to be there are not too used to having children at the complex. Some of the posted rules at the pool were "Absolutely No Marco Polo, No horseplay, No Screaming". We did get a lot of looks from the regulars at the pool, We traveled with our dear friends and their 3 children, so imagine trying to keep 7 children from horseplay and screaming at a pool. Other than that it was a perfect vacation...

incredibly relaxing and easily accessible

This was a lovely unit that was wonderfully appointed. The 4 beds in the one room was perfect for our 5 person family. We loved that it was away from the high touristy area of Ka'anapali. It was easy to get to the whole island from this location and it was spectacular that we had a more private beach location. Even at its busiest it wasn't too busy. And the snorkeling right off the beach was better than Molokini! If there is one negative that I have to stretch to find is that the living space was not terribly comfortable - but since we used the porch a lot and were gone a lot, that was a minor issue. A great place to stay and we would stay there again!!

A beautiful, refreshing, relaxing vacation.

This unit is as absolutely beautiful. The location and beach is amazing, with wonderful snorkeling all around. There are great shops and restaurants are a stones throw away. We do wish the owner would up-grade the mattress in the master bedroom and perhaps up-date the bedding in the second bedroom. Appliances are great in kitchen. Grounds of complex are incredibly maintained and beautiful. Alii Resorts people are professional and lovely.
  • Check-in time is 3:00pm / Check-out time is 11:00am.
  • Confirmed reservations will receive a letter of confirmation with a reservation number.
  • All units are non-smoking and pets are not permitted.
  • Rates are subject to change.
  • All rates are subject to 13.42% Hawaii State GE/TA Tax and are based on Standard Occupancy.
  • A 3-night deposit is required at time of booking. (Check deposits within 7 days of booking. All payments must be in US Dollars.)
  • Guest is responsible for the effects of changes in exchange rate and all fees. Refunds will not be issued due to exchange rate changes.
  • Full prepayment is due 60 days prior to arrival (90 days for Christmas/New Year’s bookings, 120 days for stays of 28+ nights).  Your final payment will be automatically charged to the credit card on file on the appropriate due date unless auto-charge is declined.
  • All reservations are subject to a Guest Service Fee which includes WiFi (when available), parking, local phone calls, applicable property fees and applicable cleaning costs.
  • Applicable cleaning fees will be added for stays less than 5 nights.
  • An Early Check In or Late Check-Out may be available at 50% of non-discounted daily rate.
  • Christmas/New Year’s reservations are not subject to normal discounts and minimum nights are required based on unit size. A 10 night minimum is required on 1 bedroom units and a 14 night minimum is required on 2 and 3 bedroom units.
  • Long-Stay Reservations: Any stay 28 nights or longer requires a deposit equaled to 25% of the total value of the reservation. Final prepayment is due 120 days prior to arrival.
  • Cancellation Policy: A fee of 10% of the gross rent or $200, whichever is greater, will be assessed for cancellations received 60+ days prior to arrival (90+ days for Christmas/New Year’s, 120+ days for Long-Stay). For cancellations received within 60 days of arrival (90 days for Christmas/New Year’s bookings, 120 days for stays of 28+ nights) or after arrival date, payments will be retained. If the space can be re-rented, a pro-rata refund will be issued for reservations paid in full.
  • Approved refunds will be remitted via check only and mailed to t he address on file.
  • Standard Occupancy is the base number of persons allowed per dwelling unit based on standard bedding and restrictions. 1-Bedroom (2 people), 2-Bedroom (4 people), 3-Bedroom (6 people). Additional person(s) charge of $20 plus tax per person per night above standard occupancy using standard bedding to a maximum occupancy of: 1-Bedroom (4 people), 2-Bedroom (6 people), and 3-Bedroom (8 people). Children 12 and under are free (extra person fee does not apply), but are counted towards maximum occupancy.
  • Accidental Property Damage Waiver: Accidental Property Damage Waiver affords protection to guests for accidental breakage or damage to the individual rental home up to a maximum of $1000. Damage must be reported by the guest to the Ali’i Resorts office prior to departure. Damage not reported by guests will not be covered by Accidental Property Damage Waiver and the guest will be responsible for any damages incurred. Cost is $40 + tax and is non-refundable. This waiver protection is added to the rent unless guest opt-out/decline protection in writing on Rental Agreement. If you choose to deny the damage waiver, you will be charged a refundable $400 cash security deposit.
  • Guest is responsible for all phone charges exceeding local standard service.
  • All guests are required to complete the registration form within 24 hours of arrival with Ali’i Resorts and, if required, register with the property. Failure to complete the registration form may result in immediate eviction.
  • All guests are required to abide by the Rules of the vacation rental property.
  • Owner and /or Ali’i Resorts and /or hired vendors of Owner/Alii Resorts may enter property with 24-hour notice to tenants occupying unit (except during scheduled cleanings and emergencies) to perform necessary repairs or maintenance, inspect unit or show unit, if necessary.
  • Ali’i Resorts, LLC reserves the right to change your condominium accommodation due to repairs, condo owner use and acts of God. If this should happen, Ali’i Resorts, LLC will make efforts to provide you with another condominium of equal or greater value at the same rate you were paying, or refund the difference for a lower rate condominium, or allow cancellation of your reservation without a cancellation penalty.
  • Guests and other parties involved with the reservation, including but not limited to, travel agents or online travel agents, hereby agree to verify all reservation details including, but not limited to, the accuracy of the rate, applicable fees, condominium complex, and condominium unit number specified in the reservation confirmation.  Ali’i Resorts is not responsible for any third party’s failure to display or provide current photos of the property.  The most current photos are located at www.AliiResorts.com
