This a great property right on the beach! For a family of four this was perfect, the kids had their own bedroom and bathroom which is far better than being on top of each other in a hotel. The option to cook your own meals is a huge plus considering the prices at restaurants. We tended to grill a lot while watching the sunset, while my wife was blending up the drinks! The grounds were very well kept and enjoyed the intimate nature of the property- very, very relaxing. When can you make coffee and cook up some eggs while watching the surf? Right across the street were places to eat or even go for happy hour. It had the feel of a very small beach town I remembered growing up around at the Jersey shore. The only negative would be that this unit was not updated and needs work. The other units I saw that were updated were immaculate and I will definitely stay in one of those next time.
Our stay at the Kamaole Nalu could not have been more perfect. The condo makes you feel like you stepped right into your own little home away from home. The amenities are just right. There are quite a few restaurants in walking distance from the condo. There are also. A few grocery stores in the area to choose from to stick your fridge for your stay.
My family and I enjoyed listening to the ocean sounds from our condo. Everyday in the late afternoon the breeze picked up and blew through the condo for about an hour or so and offered the most refreshing cool down.
Sleep with the windows open in the master and you're guaranteed the most soothing sleeping experience ever. The direct beach access was such a huge plus for us because most of our week long trip was spent swimming in the warm waters right outside our condo. We were in the waters as early as 7am on most days and it was complete paradise for us. We can't wait to go back and will most definitely be requesting this same unit for our stay.
Kihei and Maui is Paradise! The Nalu is awesome! Can't wait to return.
What can be said? We love going to Kihei. We love the building (Kamaole Nalu) and its location. We have friends that also own a unit so it was incredibly convenient. We felt like lucky owners for a week! It became home.
The place is clean, views are outstanding! Nice to get to use the chairs for the beach. When we had any questions we could simply call the management company who were polite, friendly and helpful. So, all in all highly recommended and now for the but...
I would say some of the utensils were old or in poor condition. Little things like a bottle opener that could NOT remove a bottle cap?! I never knew it was possible. I know it is a rental, l stuff must get broken or damaged or go 'missing' but we were charged damage deposit and I imagine others pay it too so it would be nice if there were a few more plates and glasses and sharper knives etc. Little things, but.
Of course still highly recommended. Other thing to add is that you feel very safe. I never thought about it until now.
Perfect location to get all over the island
Loved the location, the beach, the snorkeling. Everyone was super nice. Relaxing place to recharge after an adventursum day, watching the sunset from the lounge chairs on the lawn and then grilling dinner...perfect!
This unit and building are not fancy it is extremely nice, comfortable and very clean. There is both an ocean and a mountain view from the balcony. Grounds are well maintained and it is steps to the ocean where sea turtles are present. We had breakfast at the Kihei Cafe down the street. There is a strip mall across the street. The next time we go to Maui we will be repeat visitors
Very functional and affordable accommodations with two bedrooms and two baths, makes this very easy with family or couples. Great views from every unit of the ocean. Good neighborhood for walking and ease of shopping and dining.
Nice, oceanfront, beach view condo, between Kam I and II. A good value.
Stayed at this condo for 5 nights with my wife and her sister and husband in January. We have been to Maui more than half-dozen times and have stayed in Kihei before. The location is great, right in south central Kihei, between Kam I and II beaches. The condo was just as advertised. The complex is on the ocean, with a short walk across the lawn to Kam II beach, and a bit longer walk to Kam I. Snorkeling just in front of the condo is great...lots of turtles...you can even see them from shore.
The weather did not cooperate the first few nights we were there...strong Kona winds and high surf. When windy, one can hear the wind whistle through the condo. Note there is no A/C, but we did not need it in Jan. There is considerable street noise in the rear bedroom, but it subsides later in the evening, and we had no trouble sleeping there (but we do wear earplugs). No street noise is evident in the bedroom on the ocean side (south west exposure)...and sleeping was pleasant with the sound of the surf.
When we first arrived, we were greeted at the unit by Pat from the Alii Resort staff, a nice touch. All interaction with Alii Resorts was professional, yet friendly. They even called us the night before checkout and offered complimentary late checkout, since the unit was not rented that evening. This helped, since we would have had 4 hours before we could check into our next rental in Kaanapali. Thank you Alii Resorts.
The condo was well equipped, with most everything that we needed. Note that Alli Resorts has many condos available at this complex, with units closer to the ocean costing proportionately more. We found #502 to be a great value. We would stay at Kamaole Nalu #502 again.
We ate dinners at Maui Thai Bistro and Bistro 808 across the street a couple of the nights....the food was very good, with large portions. We rented snorkel gear from Maui Dive shop, also just across the street. Didn't make it to Café O'Lei nor the Cinnamon roll breakfast place across the street...but both appeared to be popular.
Staying here made my vacation an exceptional experience!
Arriving at the condo and being greeted by the ali'i staff was the perfect way to start our vacation. All questions were answered and all of our needs met. We especially appreciated that if anything was not working properly in our condo staff would be available to address the concern immediately. The unit was very clean. We will definitely be returning in the near future!
In my opinion, this was the best place to stay in Maui.
We had a wonderful stay in Maui. Kamaole Nalu is right on the beach and we fell asleep to the sound of the waves every night. There was someone there to greet us as we arrived and she checked on our needs and tried to do everything she could to Make our stay enjoyable. The apartment had everything we needed, plenty of linens including beach towels and all the kitchen accessories to be able to cook almost all of our meals. We thought our beach, the Kamaole I I was one of the best on the island. It was a long stretch of beach with gentle waves and great snorkeling. We saw sea turtles the first day right in front of the complex. We apprecited that Kihei was a little less busy then other areas of the island but we still had everything we needed and most of it in distance. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Maui.
Our stay was great. The accomodation and setting have to be the best in Maui. Highly recommend to anyone going to Maui, Staff are very pleasant and accomadating
Fantastic! Updated, comfortable, great view, could always hear the ocean, great snorkeling - awesome location! Onsite staff were friendly and very attentive - Mahalo!
A great facility if you don't mind morning noise.
We loved our stay at Kamaole Nalu #502. The beach was convenient, the unit was fantastic and the assistance from the employees there was great. However the laundry facility below was noisy in the early morning hours, making sleeping past 8:00 impossible. That end of the building is close to So. Kehei Rd. as well, so quite a bit of noise comes from that direction. Overall a great stay though.
