A Note from The Owners: Of all the units in Makena Surf, the original developer of the resort kept this one for himself!  This rare corner unit provides panoramic ocean and beach views and overlooks the historic landmark Heiau garden.  The one of a kind location and large side windows combine amazing light with privacy and closest access to the main beach.  Completely renovated with beautiful stone and wood surfaces, contemporary but comfortable décor, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, high end appliances and state of the art electronics. Master and guest bedrooms have California King beds and spa-like, en suite bathrooms.  Guest bedroom includes a loft custom-built to hold two extra-long twin beds.  Large lanai is complete with Brown and Jordan furniture and barbeque for spectacular sunset views and dining. Living room entertainment center has a Smart TV and sound system, complimentary HD channels and high speed WIFI.

Ali’i Resorts Reservation Policy

Check-In / Check-Out Times

  • Check-in time is 4:00 PM / Check-out time is 10:00 AM
  • Valid identification and matching valid accepted credit card required at the time of check-in.
  • All guests are required to complete the registration form within 24 hours of arrival with Ali’i Resorts, LLC and, if required, register with the property. Failure to complete the registration form may result in access code deactivation and/or immediate eviction.

Reservations

  • Confirmed reservations will receive a letter of confirmation with a reservation number after the signing of the E-signature document.
  • Rates are subject to change.
  • All rates are subject to 14.42% Hawaii State GE/TA Tax as required by law and are based on Standard Occupancy.
  • A 3-night deposit is required at the time of booking for reservations under 28 nights. (Check deposits within 7 days of booking. All payments must be in US dollars.)
  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and AMEX credit card payments.
  • Payments made by check/ACH will receive a 2% discount off the gross rent of the reservation (Deposit AND Final Payments must be made by check/ACH to receive the discount). All ACH payments will require a signed authorization form before your reservation is confirmed.
  • Check payments must be received within 7 days of the date of booking. All check payments must be in US dollars.
  • Long Stay Reservations: Any stay 28 nights or longer requires a deposit equal to 25% of the total value of the reservation.
  • Full prepayment is due 60 days prior to arrival (90 days for Christmas/New Year’s bookings, 120 days for stays of 28+ nights). Your final payment will be automatically charged to the credit card on file on the appropriate due date unless auto-charge is declined.
  • All reservations are subject to a Guest Service Fee that may include but are not limited to applicable cleaning and resort fees.
  • Additional cleaning fees will be added for stays less than 5 nights, when applicable.

Property Damage

  • Accidental Property Damage Waiver: Accidental Property Damage Waiver affords protection to guests for accidental reported breakage or damage to the individual rental home up to a maximum of $1000. Damage must be reported by the guest to the Ali’i Resorts office prior to departure. Damage not reported by guests will not be covered by Accidental Property Damage Waiver and the guest will be responsible for any damages incurred. Cost is $40.00 + tax and is non-refundable. This waiver protection is added to the total reservation cost unless guests opt-out/decline protection in writing on Rental Agreement. If you choose to deny the damage waiver, you will be charged a refundable $400 cash security deposit.

Cancellation and Changes

  • A fee of 10% of the gross rent or $200, whichever is greater, will be assessed for cancellations received 60+ days prior to arrival (90+ days for Christmas/New Year’s, 120+ days for LongStay). For cancellations received within 60 days of arrival (90 days for Christmas/New Year’s bookings, 120 days for stays of 28+ nights) or after arrival date. No refund is available unless space can be rerented. If space can be re-rented, a pro-rata refund will be issued for reservations paid in full. Cancellations are subject to a processing/handling fee.
  • Approved refunds will be remitted via check only and mailed to the address on file.
  • Guest is responsible for the effects of changes in the exchange rate and all fees. Refunds will not be issued due to exchange rate changes.

COVID-19 Exposure

  • An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By visiting the island of Maui, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Early Check-In or Late Check-Out

  • An Early Check-In or Late Check-Out may be available at 50% of the non-discounted daily rate on participating condos.

Holidays

  • Christmas/New Year’s reservations are not subject to normal discounts and minimum nights are required based on unit size. A 10- night minimum is required on 1-bedroom units and a 14-night minimum is required on 2- and 3-bedroom units.

Rental Occupancy

  • Standard Occupancy is the base number of persons allowed per dwelling unit based on standard bedding and restrictions. 1-Bedroom (2 people), 2-Bedroom (4 people), 3-Bedroom (6 people).
  • Additional person(s) charge(s) of $20 plus tax per-person, per-night above standard occupancy using standard bedding to a maximum occupancy of 1-Bedroom (4 people), 2-Bedroom (6 people), and 3-Bedroom (8 people).
  • Children 12 and under are free (extra person fee does not apply) but are counted towards maximum occupancy.
  • All units are non-smoking. Pets are not permitted.
  • Ali’i Resorts, LLC is not responsible for the retrieval and return of lost and found items. Shipping/handling fees apply for mailing back lost and found items. A minimum charge of $40 plus the cost of shipping applies.
  • Guest is responsible for all phone charges exceeding local standard service and/or additional ordered cable charges.
  • Ali’i Resorts, LLC is not responsible for childproofing accommodations.
  • Ali’i Resorts, LLC will communicate with guests as Ali’i Resorts is notified of disruptions to the tenant’s enjoyment due to construction projects, noise at neighboring properties, or interruption in available amenities. Properties are treated professionally for insect control. Additional measures are available upon request. Appliances and electronics which include but are not limited to: air conditioning units, TV’s, DVD players, water heaters, washer/dryers, internet, and
    phone service are known to be in operation upon arrival unless the guest is notified otherwise. The guest accepts that unexpected impacts happen due to construction projects, noise at neighboring properties, interruption in available amenities, insects, failed appliances/electronics, interruptions in utilities including but not limited to the internet may occur and guest agrees to hold Ali’i Resorts/Owner harmless for such incidents. Ali’i Resorts, LLC agrees
    to make good faith efforts to resolve the reported problem as quickly as possible.
  • Owner and /or Ali’i Resorts, LLC, and /or hired vendors of Owner/Alii Resorts, LLC may enter property with 24-hour notice to tenants occupying unit (except during scheduled cleanings and emergencies) to perform necessary repairs or maintenance, inspect unit or show unit, if necessary.
  • Ali’i Resorts, LLC reserves the right to change guest condominium/home accommodation. In most cases, this is due to repairs, condo owner use, and/or acts of God. If this should happen, Ali’i Resorts, LLC will make good faith efforts to provide you with another condominium/home of equal or greater value at the same
    rate you were paying, or refund the difference for a lower rate condominium/home, or allow cancellation of guest’s reservation without a cancellation penalty.
  • Guests and other parties involved with the reservation, including but not limited to, travel agents or online travel agents, hereby agree to verify all reservation details including, but not limited to, the accuracy of the rate, applicable fees, condominium complex, and condominium unit number specified in the reservation confirmation.
  • Ali’i Resorts, LLC is not responsible for any third party’s failure to display or provide current photos of the property or for variation in 3rd party posted rates. All 3rd parties are advised to and are responsible for posting accurate rates. Alii Resorts, LLC does not control, nor is responsible for any 3rd party booking site fees. Guest & Ali’i Resorts Agreement

  • Guests agree that any disagreements pertaining to this reservation policy will first be attempted to be resolved by good faith negations. Guests and Alii Resorts, LLC agree that if a dispute has not been successfully resolved within 30 days, the matter will be submitted to mediation for resolution in Maui, Hawaii prior to any litigation and any litigation pertaining to this reservation policy will take place exclusively in courts located in Maui County, Hawaii.
  • This reservation policy represents the entire Agreement of the guests and Alii Resorts, LLC, and may be modified only in writing. It will be governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii and will be binding on a successor, assigns, or devisees. If any provision in this reservation policy is unenforceable, the remaining provisions are valid and enforceable and apply to all occupants within the accommodation.

Beautiful view and Beach location

Makena Surf Resort #E-206 is a beautiful unit. It's been updated compared to other units we've stayed in and the kitchen is very functional. We watched many gorgeous sunsets from our Lanai and particularly enjoyed the weddings each night on our beach. Also, this unit is very close to the beach access so you don't have to pack beach gear too far. Would stay here again. Ali'i was great to work with and very helpful upon checkin.

GREAT place!

We had an opportunity to stay in the condo Nov 12-18 2013. We typically stay in Kihei on our Maui visits but wanted to try something different. This place was great - fully remodeled. Everything is high end. The end of the building unit location is nice for privacy and easy access to beach and tennis courts. We went this time with another couple (no kids :)) but are looking forward to going another time with our kids. The beach below the condo is great for snorkeling. It also provides a nice, safe location for kids to play in the water/surf. Highly recommend it!

Honeymoon Paradise!

My husband and I stayed here for our week-long honeymoon and could not have been happier! The recently remodeled condo is beautifully designed with just the right amount of Hawaiian touches that embrace the aloha spirit. Completely stocked with gorgeous upgrades, amenities, supplies and spa-like extras, we felt spoiled and relaxed the entire time. With its corner location, the ocean breeze flows throughout the house perfectly, bringing with it a beautiful scent of plumeria blooms from the nearby tree. The proximity to the gorgeous, uncrowded and quiet beach is unbeatable; we discovered it was perfect for sunning, swimming, boogie-boarding and snorkeling and never had the need to fight the crowds at other beaches for a better experience. The view from the lanai is outstanding all day long and especially at sunset. It also makes a wonderful spot for grilling out and enjoying cocktails from the comfort of your own private paradise. I should also mention that the management company, Ali'i Resorts, LLC were fantastic! From greeting us at the condo with a grand tour, recommending points-of-interests on the island, and helping us with new propane (we grilled A LOT!), this group made sure we always felt welcome without a worry. Overall, we both can't imagine a better way to have spent our honeymoon and look forward to vacationing here in the future. Nearby activities and attractions we enjoyed or appreciated: Grocery Stores: Safeway and Foodland (or Costco for bulk items) Luau: The Grand Luau at Honua'ula (at the Grand Wailea) Food with a view: Sarento's On The Beach (stellar service and to-die-for seafood), The Red Bar (at Gannon's, great happy hour and sunset view) and Honu Beach Seafood and Pizza (in Lahaina) Other: Maui Zen Day Spa, Snorkel Bob's

Fantastic Stay at Makena Surf

We would definitely return to this property, if not exact condo, at Maken Surf. Great location and ideal building on the big beach.Make sure you see the development plan so you pick the right building - it's worth being beachfront. And when the west coast was in the clouds, we were always sunny. Lovely beach, quiet with just the right amount of action close by. Easy drive to area shops and restaurants. Condo was ideal and services were terrific. If you are looking for beach and pool bar, resort services - this is not your place. There is a beach and pool but no blended drinks being served. But you'll spend three times the money for a hotel room versus having the luxury of spreading out at "home" with your family for meals, movie night and morning breakfast on the lanai. A much nicer way to go and then eat dinner in all the great restaurants. Who wants to shower and dress for breakfast anyway? I'd rather eat on the lanai and relax. The condo has everything you would want for a lovely stay from good bedding, spacious bathrooms,beach chairs, daily maid service, to streaming Netflix and fully stocked kitchen. Rent a car and you are all set.You won't want to leave and you feel more like you live there rather than just being another tourist. Oh and having a washer dryer in the unit was super convenient. Overall... a lovely spot.

Most amazing holiday our family has ever had!

We went for 20 days and in that time we renewed our vows for our 10 year anniversary. We were able to do it right outside our lanai (on the beach) We had been planning for months on what to do, where to go, what to see..... lets just say it was very hard to leave our condo/area. Everything you want is right there! Ocean view, pool, tennis, dinning, shopping. We saw turtles almost every day right by the black rocks out from our lanai! Our 2 smaller children did not snorkel so we thought they would never get to see turtles. We were wrong! We did lots of shelling/sea glass hunting as well just to the left of us, down the walkway to the ocean). The service, hospitality, kindness, and friendliness of ALL the staff at the condo was above and beyond! Everyone was so nice and always had a smile. It was hard to leave as many of them felt like family. The cleaning staff were so good to our kids and even gave my daughter and I each a sea glass pendant that she had made! Wow how nice! We also made a purchase online and got it delivered to Ali Resorts and they even came to our unit and hand delivered it! The unit E-206 was a gem! It was great for our family of 6. (4 children ages 8,7,5, and 3) the bunk bed room was ideal and not small or squishy at all. The showers were wonderful not to mention the pillows! I fell in love with them the moment I laid my head down! It was also nice to hear the ocean/waves from our room, (as they were on the other side of the condo) We would love to go back! we will be seeing you all again soon!!!! Mahalo Mahalo, Mahalo
