If you’ve come all this way make sure to treat yourself to one of Maui’s famous luaus, like the Te Au Moana at the Wailea Marriott, and there is no shortage to choose from what ever side of island you are staying on. The backdrop alone is well worth the show.

When was the last time you took a dip and were able to swim next to one of the most protected sea creatures in Hawaii. Maui’s Honu (sea turtle) can be seen from prolific snorkeling areas and we highly recommend the Kayak Olowalu excursion or booking a boat trip to catch a swim with our beloved honu’s.  Just remember to observe with your eyes, and don’t touch!

Indulgence deserves to be a part of your vacation plan and what better way to do this than trying Maui’s favorite Shave Ice. We recommend Ululani’s Shave Ice, which has three locations throughout Maui. How can you resist the Haleakala made with coconut milk, leche and topped with sweetened condensed milk. It’s a must do!

Vacationing to Maui wouldn’t be the same without hitting Coconut’s Café for one of the most popular fresh fish tacos on the island. Made with 17 different ingredients, the fish is no older than five hours and did we mention the tortillas are made in house? Located in Kihei in the Azeka Plaza with convenient location and parking it’s well worth the stop.

Want to buy food using the honor system? While driving around the island you will see several unattended stands selling a small selection of fresh fruit or flowers. Each has it’s own money slot with the cost of the product, and you will buy your fruit using this honor system. Only in Hawaii!

Learn to play the Ukulele! Come on, jump into the Hawaiian sound from the Aloha state and strum away learning a variety of Hawaiian, pop and jazz standards on the cute and fun ‘ukulele and u-bass.

Smell the Lavender. While your heading to the Upcountry region of Maui, you will find Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm. Since lavender is not a native plant to Maui, they are not always blooming, but a walk through the gardens during the season and visiting the little shop is well worth the bucket list check off.
