Maui Brewing Company

Maui Brewing Company has come a long way since it opened in 2005. It is now Hawaiʻi’s largest craft brewery, with its main brewery and restaurant in Kīhei and additional restaurants in Kāʻanapali and Kahana. The Kīhei location is an easy stop from South Maui condos, with brewery tours on select days and a big open air restaurant.

You will see their beers all over the island. Popular choices include Bikini Blonde Lager, Big Swell IPA, Pineapple Mana Wheat, Coconut Hiwa Porter, and Pau Hana Pilsner. They also make hard seltzers and canned cocktails for anyone who is not into beer but still wants something local.

Maui Wine

Upcountry in ʻUlupalakua, MauiWine pours tastings in the historic King’s Cottage, once used as a retreat by King Kalākaua and Queen Kapiʻolani. The drive alone, along the flanks of Haleakalā, is worth the trip.

MauiWine is known for both grape wines and pineapple wines. If you like something on the sweeter side, try Maui Blanc, Maui Splash, or sparkling Hula o Maui. If you prefer more traditional styles, look for their rosé, sparkling rosé, and small production reds and whites grown in the cooler upcountry climate. Reservations are recommended, and guests must be 21 or older to taste.

Ocean Vodka

In lower Kula, the Ocean Vodka site has grown into Ocean Organic Farm & Distillery, a full farm, café, and tasting room with big bi coastal views. The team grows organic sugarcane and uses deep ocean mineral water to create a line of spirits that now includes Ocean Organic Vodka, Kula rums, Fy gin, and specialty bottlings like espresso martini and solera style rum.

Guided tastings walk you through how everything is made and give you a chance to sample a flight. Before or after, you can sit at the farm café for pizzas, salads, and cocktails while the sun drops over the central valley. Check their current schedule and book tastings ahead, especially in busy months.

BONUS: Wow-Wow Lemonade

For a family friendly stop, visit Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade in Kīhei’s Azeka Mauka Center. The original Maui stand has turned into a small chain, but this Kīhei shop still feels very local.

Wow Wow Lemonade

They serve fresh pressed tropical lemonades and limeades in reusable jars, along with acai bowls, smoothies, toast, and light grain bowls. Flavors change, but you can usually count on island touches like lilikoi, Maui ginger, and Aliʻi Kula lavender blends. The Kahului shop from older guides is no longer open, so Kīhei is your go to on Maui.
